Announcing the Alliance's New Website

CA State Alliance of YMCAs Launches its first-ever website

Published 12.20.15 5:00 am

The California State Alliance of YMCAs is proud to announce the launch of its first-ever website. As the Alliance elevates its profile as a powerful voice in advocacy, a statewide partner in preventative health care and a leader in the campaign to improve childcare and afterschool programs for Californians, the launch of the site will allow the Alliance to communicate its work to its members, policymakers, media and anyone wanting to better understand the work of YMCAs in California.

Building on a 35-year history of advocacy in California and 12 years of collaboration as an informal alliance of California's Y's, in 2013, the Alliance embarked on a strategic development initiative to incorporate as a 501(c)4 organization and hire its first-ever executive director. The Alliance's executive committee hired Kris Lev-Twombly in 2014 to serve as the organization's first executive. Through 2014 and 2015, Kris worked with the Alliance board and members to develop communication tools, deepen relationships with external statewide partners, strengthen advocacy activities, and raise the profile of the work of Y's in California.

Now in 2016, we're excited to present our Alliance through our new website. Please take a moment to learn about our network and the work of our member associations around the state. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to contact Kris Lev-Twombly directly at 916-730-0271 or kris@ymcasofca.org.
